blue fruit is the design studio of Virginia Blue.
After graduating with a BA in Interior Design
from Uni SA in 1991, Virginia lived + worked across Australia,
always relishing the chance to practice design with a local flavour.
She also previously studied a BA in Communications Studies (Uni SA 1986).
Virginia has worked for the prestigious architectural firms of
Woods Bagot and Hassell, designing retail (David Jones), commercial,
educational + public buildings (including lead interior designer for the
Roma Mitchell Commonwealth Law Courts building Adelaide). After a stint in London, Virginia embarked upon blue fruit in 2004 as a means of
exploring how building design can reflect both the user's needs, and the user's personality.
Her designs are also inspired by the landscape and context in which the buildings are set.
Virginia prides herself that her buildings are not recognisable as being done by the same designer. |
